If you’re looking for a fun day or evening activity, to enjoy the outdoors, you have to visit the US National Whitewater Center. The USNWC was built for kayakers to practice training for the Olympics, but has quickly grown in popularity among both avid outdoor enthusiasts and weekend warriors. We shot the video below on a recent trip, to help highlight some of the fun activities.
Some of the activities that the Whitewater Center offers are:
- Whitewater rafting
- Whitewater kayaking
- Hiking Trails
- Off road biking trails
- Stand-up Paddleboarding
- Flatwater Kayaking
- Tandem Kayaking
- Climbing walls
- Ropes courses
- Canopy Tours
- Zip Lines
In addition to all of the activities, the US National Whitewater Center has a restaurant and beer garden. During the Spring and Summer months, they have something called River Jam on Thursday an Saturday nights. These are live music events, and are usually really popular.
Even if you don’t want to participate in any of the fun activities, you can go and watch for free. It will cost you $5 however for parking.
For additional details on any of the activities, events, or hours they are open, you can visit their website here.
