#supportlocal – Atherton Market

As a Realtor and also a Charlotte native, I take pride in getting out and supporting our community. If you’ve been reading my blog over the past few weeks, I’m sure you’ve seen our “support local” series, where we interview small businesses in our community to help bring added awareness and some no-cost advertising to them. Well, our most recent interview is with Lynn Caldwell, Director of Atherton Market in SouthEnd.

This has quickly become one of my favorite weekend places to visit, even though they are open during the week too! Lynn has put together such a good mix of vendors, that you can really find a lot of variety in what Atherton Market offers. I also love the fact that you can bring well behaved dogs into the market. I will often bring my puppy, Giacomo, because he loves visiting the vendor that offers naturally shed deer and elk antlers. (If you haven’t discovered antlers yet as a dog owner, research them. They are great!)

Other vendors that you’ll find at Atherton Market offer items like freshly made coffee, pasta, fish, fruit, vegetables, bread, honey, plants, eggs, and jewelry, to name a few. Take a look at the video below, where we interview Lynn about this awesome concept and how she too feels strongly about supporting our community. She even mentions a quick plug about Tupelo Honey, one of Charlotte’s newest and hottest restaurants and how they have a partnership with Atherton Market.
