I hope you like being outside and constantly on the move. The first week of May is packed with music, festivals and Cinco De Mayo.
Featured recurring event: Alive After Five at the EpiCenter in Uptown Charlotte. It’s an after work favorite during Spring and Summer on Thursdays.
Last Chance to see: Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat by the Children’s Theatre at the McColl Family Theatre at ImaginOn. Last show is Sunday, May 3rd.

Friday, May 1st : Jazz at the Bechtler: 5th Anniversary Fan favorites
The Bechtler is bringing in the Ziad Jazz Quartet to perform the most requested songs from the audience. Show up for the 6pm show for a special “extreme sculpting” performance by Peter Rubino.

Saturday, May 2nd : NODA DAY IN MAY STREET FESTIVAL
FREE! One of our favorite neighborhoods, NoDa, also known as The Arts District, is hosting a special event to include over 40 artists and vendors. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday outside in a special Charlotte neighborhood, and also to help benefit Crisis Assistance Ministries.

Saturday, May 2nd : Romare Fest
Their website says it best:
“Romare Fest, a free, Saturday festival featuring nationally known and regional musical acts, art and family-friendly activities to kick off the season’s cultural happenings at Romare Bearden Park. This year’s Romare Fest will present the legendary alt-rock quartet The Spin Doctors.”

Saturday, May 2nd : Art & Soul of South End
South End is Charlotte’s hottest up and coming neighborhood, and they are hosting their signature arts festival. Head on out from 12-6pm at the Rail Trail Enjoy music, artists, retailers and more.
